Daisy Farmhouse Soap Store
Daisy Farmhouse Soap Store started because I was scared. I was at a point in my life that I thought would be the happiest ever and I was standing in a doctor's office hearing the horrible words that my husband had cancer. As I felt my world closing around us I knew I was going to figure out a way to start fighting against this horrible robber of our joy. We started eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies, visiting lots of farmers markets and supporting local fresh veggie stands.
I started reading about what we were using on our skin. I remembered from way back when that our skin was our bodies largest organ but never really knew just how much it could absorb. I was shocked to see that ingredients in our soaps, shampoos, body washes, lotions, lip balms and hand creams had ingredient lists a mile long of words I couldn't even begin to pronounce and ingredients that were potentially linked to cancer. My journey to do better for myself and my husband gave birth to Daisy Farmhouse Soaps Store. I continue to learn and am excited to be continuing on this journey.
Meet the Maker
First question I am always asked, "Is your name Daisy?" The answer is...nope my name is Leah. I'll tell you about Daisy in a bit. I am happiest when I am with my husband and best friend, Buddy and our fur babies. I love coffee and ice cream...not a day goes by that I don't enjoy both. I have a serious cow addiction. It is so bad that my husband knows a perfect day is a drive through upstate New York looking for dairy farms for me. I love to hike the may trails through out the Catskills with Buddy and our dogs. I believe that each days is a gift from our Creator. I also believe the quote from Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but people will never forget how you made them feel."
The face behind the Daisy in Daisy Farmhouse Soaps. Daisy is our "special needs dog." She has swallowing issues and suffers from a disease called Addison's disease. She eats from a special chair in an upright position and receives numerous medications. She has defied the odds in so many ways. She has a terrier's heart but is also so sweet and loves to do snuggles in your lap.
